Four Pitchers Combine for Range Riders’ First Shutout of Season
KALISPELL, Mont. - The Glacier Range Riders recorded their first shutout of the season Saturday, defeating the RedPocket Mobiles 5-0 at Glacier Bank Park.
The victory extended Glacier's home winning streak to nine games. The Range Riders have also won 11 of their last 12 games overall.
Cole Cressend, Ryan Humphreys, Davis Pratt and Connor Housley combined to hold the Mobiles to just two hits while issuing no walks. Housley struck out Jordan Harrison-Dudley to record the final out and complete the shutout.
Cressend started on the mound and allowed just one hit over four scoreless innings. He struck out four and did not issue a walk.
Humphreys earned the victory after surrendering one hit across two scoreless innings. The left-hander struck out three without walking a batter. Pratt and Housley each added a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.
The Range Riders opened the scoring in the bottom of the third inning when Kyle Ashworth delivered a two-run double.
Jacob Steele led Glacier with three RBIs from the No. 9 spot in the lineup, finishing 1-for-1 at the plate. Ashworth and Carson Garner collected two hits apiece.
Glacier also showed patience offensively, drawing six walks. Steele and Tommy Rover led the team with two walks each.
Kade Walker took the loss for RedPocket after allowing four runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out five and walked four.
