Glacier Flumox Billings Bats, Take 5-1 Record Back Home
BILLINGS, Mont. - The Glacier Range Riders closed out the series with a 5-2 win over the Billings Mustangs on Sunday at Dehler Park. The win finished off a 5-1 road trip to start the season for the Range Riders, tied for the best start in franchise history.
Glacier struck first in the top of the third inning when Logan Beard delivered an RBI single to give the Range Riders a 1-0 lead. The offense added two more runs in the fourth. Jake Millan launched a solo home run to right field before Tommy Rover added an RBI single later in the inning to extend the advantage.
Jonah Giblin earned the win for Glacier after turning in six solid innings. The right-hander allowed two runs on six hits while striking out six and walking three. David Hankins took the loss for Billings after allowing four runs on eight hits across four and two-thirds innings.
Alex Bustamante provided key relief work with one and two-thirds scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out one. Jacob Hasty briefly appeared for his 23rd consecutive scoreless outing, before Jack Maruskin closed the door to earn the save with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
The Range Riders finished with nine hits in the victory. Beard and Millan each recorded two-hit games, while Beard, Millan, Jacob Steele, and Rover all drove in runs. Glacier also turned two double plays defensively.
The Range Riders are officially off to their best start since 2022 when Glacier took five of six in the first week of the season versus the Rocky Mountain Vibes. The Range Riders take the second-best record in the league back to Glacier Bank Park for the home opener on May 26th. First pitch is slated for 6:35 PM at the ballpark.
