Flathead Valley, MT. – The Glacier Range Riders are playing their best baseball of the season with an 8-2 record in their last ten games, moving up to third place in the Northern Division of the Pioneer League with a 15-16 record in the second half of the season. This week they take on the Great Falls Voyagers for six games; three in a row at home on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
STAYING HOT: The Range Riders just finished up a 14-game homestand. They have not lost a series since their most recent road trip which ended on August 5th. At home, Glacier swept both games against Billings, won the final three games against Great Falls to earn a split, and dominated Boise with a 4-2 series victory. Pitching has been the strength for the Riders over this stretch, with the team ERA clocking in at 3.71. Ryan Cash and Brandt Broussard hit .341 and .324 over the homestand, respectively, while Ben McConnell has accounted for ten RBIs. Brody Wofford leads the way with the four home runs, while Livingston Morris has three bombs in regulation as well as a bonus home run that he hit to win the knockout round for Glacier on Thursday night.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT: The Great Falls Voyagers have been a solid foe all season for the Glacier Range Riders, with the two sides meeting 21 times already this season and slated to meet 11 more times before the year is done. The all-time series between the two opponents sits at 13-8 in favor of the Voyagers, but Great Falls have been the ones that have started to slip as of late, losing eight out of their last ten. Glacier is currently in sole possession of third place with a 15-16 record, while Great Falls has fallen into a tie for last in the North, currently at 14-17.
SUNDAY BASEBALL WITH BBQ: On Sunday, August 28th, the Range Riders are excited to welcome Arn's BBQ to the stadium. They'll set up shop down the third base line during the final Sunday kid's day of the season. The gates will open at 12:05 PM for a 1:05 PM first pitch. It will also be the final chance kids will get to run the bases postgame!
SOUNDS OF SUMMER SLOWLY FADING: With just six home games remaining in the Glacier Range Riders inaugural season, time is running out to catch history at Flathead Field. Soon enough, we'll enter Larch Madness, and the beautiful warm summer days will give way to the crisp cold of fall. For the first time ever, the crack of a wood bat on ball, the smack of a baseball hitting leather, the laugh of a kid catching a foul ball, and the jubilant cheer of the Flathead Faithful were added to the catalogue of summer sounds heard in our valley. Come down to the field and soak it all in before the season ends. We can't wait to see you for our final six.
Tickets can be bought at https://ridgerunbaseball.ticketsocket.com/#/event-list or in-person at the Flathead Field box office starting at an hour and a half before first pitch on home gamedays.
